This program is unique because, while we recognize the specific needs of the
professional, they are not treated as if in an 'elite club.'
The Recovering Professionals' Program (RPP) at La Hacienda is a specialized
program designed for those whose profession requires licensure or
certification: physicians, dentists, attorneys, nurses, accountants, etc. It is
recognized that licensed persons, by the very nature of their profession, may
have special issues in recovery that need to be addressed with more intense
focus. In addition to the core program, professionals at La Hacienda
participate in specialized therapies such as RPP Process Groups, professional
advocacy, community based RPP 12 Step Groups, and individual resource
counseling.
La Hacienda's staff works closely with referral boards and
peer assistance programs. We help the professional address special needs when
he or she is in treatment by assisting with unusual situations not common to
the general population, and assists the professional in understanding any
special requirements by the referral agent/licensing body.
