Since 2003 La Hacienda Treatment Center has been in network with Cigna Health Insurance, a contract that allows policyholders to receive care for substance use disorders at the residential Hunt campus and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) in Austin and College Station. La Hacienda’s Utilization Review Department works with Cigna and other insurers to see that patients get the maximum quality treatment allowed and leave sober with a plan to control their addiction and find long-term recovery. That cooperation is steadily developing.
Cigna Designates La Hacienda a Center of Excellence
In 2021, Cigna designated La Hacienda as a Cigna Center of Excellence for the treatment of substance use. This recognition places it among a select group of behavioral health and substance use hospital and residential treatment facilities across the country. It helps customers identify the most appropriate care with their coverage benefits. “We value our relationship with CIGNA,” says Utilization Review Director Michelle Sweet. “We look forward to building an even stronger connection with them to ensure patients get the treatment they need in a healthy time frame.”
Recognition of La Hacienda Treatment Center’s quality care for addiction treatment includes accreditation by the Joint Commission and licensure by the State of Texas. La Hacienda also subscribes to the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Code of Ethics.
What Kind of Insurance is Cigna?

The former includes Cultural Competency Training, Language Assistance Services, and CultureVision^TM^.
