For a change of pace, the annual Christmas season baking contest at LaHacienda was limited to cookies only this year.
Taking top prize in the 2018 Just Cookies Contest was Family Program Director Martin Garcia with his Stained Glass Christmas Cookies (follow
Elizabeth Byers of Therapeutic Activities took second place for her White Chocolate Apricot Bars, Cat Eudy of Environmental Services won third for her Holiday Butter Cookies, and Dr. Katie McQueen placed fourth with her Sriracha Caramel Cookies.
Staff members voted for their three top picks after tasting from among the 27 entries arranged on a long table in the festively decorated Dining Room.
In addition to the cookies, staff enjoyed hot chocolate, hot cider
