Dale has been with La Hacienda since January 2016. He is a popular Big Book instructor on campus, meets weekly with the LGBTQ group, and travels the state visiting alumni and conducting workshops. He’s a two-time survivor. First, Dale overcame cancer, which interrupted his college years. Second, he has been sober since July 11, 2011. Prior to joining our staff, he was an advisor with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Kerrville. Not happy in that work, he prayed and meditated, and believes that God led him to La Hacienda. Dale is also active off-campus as chair of Kerrville Recovery Community Coalition, as a state certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist, and in the Kerr County Adult Probation’s Phoenix Program, which works with people released after committing substance abuse felonies. He has also become involved in recovery advocacy at the state level. Dale is working to finish a college degree and earn an LCDC. His hobbies included sailing, golf (traditional and disc), volleyball, baseball, and travel.
