Melanie Smith Billing and Financial Specialist
A member of the La Hacienda staff since October 2021, Billing and Financial Specialist Melanie Smith has been active in the medical field for more than two decades.
“I have done it all. I was pretty much thrown into billing and told I was going to learn it,” she says. “I’ve been doing it ever since and I have a true passion for it!”
She Likes Helping Others
Melanie says working at La Hacienda allows her to learn new things and meet new people while helping make the process easier and less stressful for patients. And she likes the staff’s sense of fellowship.
“I was searching for a place to call home and I feel I have found that here. I love coming to work and feeling like I have another family.”
Family, Friends, Decorating, and Fishing
Born and raised in Coleman, Texas, Melanie never planned to leave there. “One day, I decided it was time for a change, packed up, and moved to the Hill Country.”
Her favorite free-time activities include decorating and planning for parties and holidays, visiting her grandson, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family.
She has three adult children, two daughters and one son. She and her partner Justin also have two horses and two cats which “keep life interesting.”
