Mental Health America of Abilene (MHAA) is holding it’s third Mental Health Symposium this Friday in Abilene, Texas. The MHAA’s mission is to provide leadership and support for hope, recovery and mental wellness. The topic of this symposium is “Legislative Mental Health Initiatives and the Addiction Epidemic: New Treatment Modalities and Personal Perspectives Surrounding Opiate Dependence and Other Substance Abuse Disorders”. The Symposium is going to be held at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Sherri Layton will be presenting “It’s More Than an Opioid Addiction: Impacting the National Conversation” at 2:15 pm.
